Knights edge Kennebec Valley with second half comeback

Haverhill, MA (January 11, 2026) – The NECC women's basketball team trailed by four points at halftime and by seven points late in the third quarter before rallying past Kennebec Valley on Friday nights for a 61-57 victory. With the win, the Knights improved to 7-8 overall as they opened the second half of their season with their third consecutive victory.

The Knights trailed 31-27 at the half, before scoring 17 points in both the third and fourth quarters to holdoff Kennebec Valley.

Shaneley Henriquez (Haverhill) continued her strong play as she scored a career high 31 points, her fourth consecutive game scoring 20 points or more. She scored 13 of her points at the free throw line shooting 13 of 16 from the charity stripe.

Kelsie Martinez (Lawrence) picked up a double-double with a season best 18 rebounds to go along with 16 points. Martinez was joined by Rebecca Heathman (Billerica) with double digit rebounds as she grabbed 14 to go along with six points.

The Knights will host a pair of mid-week home games coming up as they host Southern Maine on Tuesday at 6:30 followed by Roxbury on Thursday at 5:30pm
