Auburn, NY (May 25, 2025) – The fifth seeded Northern Essex Community College baseball team saw their season come to an end on Sunday afternoon as they dropped a 9-0 decision to stop seeded SUNY Niagara in the elimination bracket of the NJCAA World Series.
Four solid innings on the mound from Jack Kelleher (Haverhill) in which he struck out five before the Thunderwolves struck and eventually chased him from the game with four runs on five in 4.1 innings.
The Knights threatened with runners in scoring position in both the fourth and sixth innings, but couldn't push a run across. Niagara outhit the Knights 11-4 in the contest. Manny Castro (Manchester, NH) went 1-3 in the contest and finished the tournament going 3-5.
The Knights closed out the season with a 32-10 overall record and in the process claimed their fourth straight Region 21 and Northeast District championship. It was the programs 11th all-time World series appearance and also marked just the third time in which the program won 30 or more games in a season.
